Connection Type

This option allows you to specify your Internet connection setting.

The options are:

Dial-up Connection

If you use a dial-up connection (a modem and a regular phone line) OR you use America Online (AOL) 6.0 or 7.0 as your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Local Area Network Connection

If you use a dedicated connection such as LAN, Cable, or DSL.  Some dial-up and free ISPs might require this connection type as well.

AOL Dial-up Connection

If you use a dial-up connection (a modem and a regular phone line) AND you use AOL 5.0 or earlier for your Internet access.

To change your Connection Type option:

From the ICM Main Window click the Setup button.

The Setup window opens with the General submenu visible:

Click the checkbox next to the method of connection that you use (Dial-up, LAN, or AOL)

Click the OK button to accept the changes and dismiss the dialog.

The Cancel button lets you dismiss the dialog without accepting any changes you might have made.

If you are connected to the Internet and your ICM Status Indicator is not turning green or yellow, experiment by using the other Connection Type options.  To do this select each Connection Type (as shown in the screenshot above) and click OK to accept this change each time.  If this does not cause your Status Indicator to turn yellow or green, please contact Customer Service at help@internetcallmanager.com.
