Incoming Call Pop-ups include the name that is associated with the phone number in the telephone company's database. This information is generally sent along with the call.
For particular phone numbers, common callers for example, you can override the name included with this information with a nickname of your choosing. Subsequent pop-ups on calls from that number will reflect your chosen nickname.
To assign Nicknames to particular callers:
Click the ICM Main Window's Setup button.
Another window opens.
Ensure that the correct menu is displayed by clicking on Nicknames.
Any Nicknames you have already defined are displayed.
To add a Nickname:
Click the Add button to display the Add a Nickname dialog:
Type a phone number, including the area code, in the Number: field.

Calls from some cell phones and from certain telephone networks do not carry the information that ICM uses in processing calls. If ICM does not have the phone number of an incoming call, it cannot perform the automatic action associated with the phone number. Always wait for the first call from a particular number before defining an automatic action for that number. If the display screen's caller information shows Unknown, Unavailable, or Private Number instead of the caller's number, the number is not available to ICM and the automatic action will not be performed against calls from that number. |
Type the name you chose in the Nickname: field:
Click the Add button.
The Add a Nickname dialog is dismissed and the Nickname you entered is displayed:
Click the Nicknames menu's OK button.
Now when you receive calls from this phone number while you are on the Internet, the name in the Incoming Call Pop-up will be the nickname you defined.
