You can use AutoActions to handle calls automatically. This can be useful for problem callers, frequent long distance callers, or when you are away from your computer. You can:
disconnect from the Internet automatically so you can Answer the call;
have the call redirected to one of your Transfer numbers;
play the caller the I'll Call You Back, Call Me Back, or one of your other four customizable messages;
use the Open Door functionality;
direct the caller to Voice Mail; or
Ignore the caller. |
Note: The option to select Open Door must first be enabled within the Open Door settings. For more information refer to Setting your Open Door Configurations.
AutoActions can be assigned to individual phone numbers, or to all of your calls. In setting up AutoActions for individual callers, you must assign a call-handling option to each phone number. Then, when the AutoActions feature is enabled, whenever you receive a call from one of your AutoActions numbers, the call will be handled automatically. You will hear a ringing sound shorter than the one associated with the normal "Sound On" feature. No Incoming Call Pop-up is displayed. The call will be handled in the way you specified.
If you enable your All Callers AutoAction, it will override your individual AutoActions, and handle all your calls in the way you specified. The main AutoAction window (available from the Setup button) explains this for you as well:
The following topics tell you how to set up AutoActions and how to enable and disable the feature:
