About the Status Indicator

The ICM Main Window's Status Indicator lets you know whether your software is connecting successfully to our system or not. It shows you when ICM is operating normally, when it is having connection difficulties, or when there is a problem with your account.

The Status Indicator has the following modes represented below:

Solid Yellow

If you have just installed ICM, a solid yellow light indicates that you have installed and configured ICM properly and that the software has connected to our system.  All that remains is to have Call Forwarding added to your phone line.  Remember that it may take several business days for your account to become fully operational.  If you upgrade your software, your Status Indicator may show solid yellow until you receive your first incoming call while you are connected to the Internet.

Solid Green

A solid green light indicates that the ICM software is fully operational.

Flashing Red and Yellow

A flashing red and yellow light indicates that the software has tried to connect to an ICM server but was unsuccessful.  This usually means that there is a problem with your ICM account.  This state is usually accompanied by an Information Bulletin with more details.  Please contact ICM Customer Service with these details at help@internetcallmanager.com.

Solid Red

A solid red light indicates that the ICM software cannot connect to our system or has lost its connection.  If your ICM software has never worked properly, this is an indication that your computer's network set-up is misconfigured.  If your ICM software has been working normally, possible causes include temporary Internet network failures, heavy Internet traffic, or planned / unplanned server outages.  If your ICM has been working normally, your Status Indicator will return to solid green as soon as the connection is established again.

Note:  To users who subscribe to Call Waiting; in order for Internet Call Manager to work properly you must disable Call Waiting when you dial your Internet service.  For more information contact Customer Support at help@internetcallmanager.com.
